Innovative Contracting Methods

At Weitz Golf International we are familiar with a variety of contracting methods including the traditional unit price agreements used in the golf course construction. Some of the other forms of agreements we have successfully introduced and use on a consistent basis include:

• Cost of the Work with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP)
  Weitz Golf introduced the use of the GMP form of agreement in golf course construction on projects both large and small. Benefits to the Client include having the contractor on board early in the process to allow for monitoring of the budget through the design stage, competitively bid subcontractor trades with owner input in subcontractor selection, cost savings for final costs below the GMP amount and the comfort of having a maximum price for the designated scope of work.
• Total Project
  Weitz Golf has the unique qualifications and expertise to manage and construct your entire golf facility including infrastructure, golf course, clubhouse, maintenance building, golf learning center, cottages, etc. When you work with Weitz Golf you have the ease of a single point of responsibility for the entire project.
• Design – Build
  Weitz Golf has the capability and experience to manage the design professionals and other consultants under our contract. This single point of responsibility enables the Owner to further minimize his risk on a project.

Project Management

Weitz Golf brings an experienced management team to every project. This team uses the latest software and technology to increase efficiency and improve communication amongst the various project team members. Weekly and monthly team meetings and monthly Project Status Reports keep all parties informed and focused on the critical tasks at hand.

Cost Control

Our project team tracks quantities and costs, always searching for the most efficient and cost effective method of construction. The result? A project completed with no unwelcome surprises.

Quality Control

At Weitz Golf quality control isn’t solely a construction process instead it begins in the pre-construction phase with our documenting the Owners and designers expectations for the project. We prepare a detailed schedule to allow the design and construction to be performed in the proper sequence. Selection of the most qualified subcontractors ensures that the anticipated quality level is realized in the finished product.

Risk Management

At the start of every project we prepare a project specific Project Plan and Safety Plan. These plans document the expectations of the project team, the risks involved and the plan to minimize those risks. We treat safety as a priority and as a result our firm has one of the lowest injury incidence rates in the country, resulting in the Owner spending fewer dollars on insurance for the project.
